4045 kilometers in 145 days in one go

Marco Cuda lives in Lamezia Terme in Calabria in the south of Italy. He started from there in 2025. There is no official route to Benevento, so he made one up. He took many state roads and paths. From Benevento to Rome, he then walked the Via Francigena del Sud. From Rome to Sarzana, the Via Francigena. From Sarzana to Ventimiglia, the Via de la Costa Ligure. From Ventimiglia to Arles on the Via Aurelia. From Arles to Montpellier the Via di Arles. From Montpellier to Carcassonne, the Via del Piemonte Pirenaico. From Carcassonne he took a turn-off to get to Toulouse. From Toulouse he then came to Lourdes. From Lourdes, he then took the Via del Piemonte Pirenaico to Saint Jean Pied de Port. And then he continued on the Camino Frances to Santiago. From Santiago, he continued on to Muxia and Finisterre, and when he arrived in Finisterre, he returned to Santiago on foot after 145 days and 4043 kilometers.

Andy "Ninja" Jensen (1973-2022)

Andy Jensen had practically lived on the Camino de Santiago for the last 15 years. During this time, he has walked over 20,000 kilometers on more than 100 Caminos and had a MacBook in his backpack, on which he programmed the first version of the Camino Ninja app in the hostels along the way.

In July 2022, Andy died unexpectedly on the Camino de Santiago.

Here you can find the obituary of Andy “Ninja” Jensen.

"Man ist nie zu alt, um einen Traum zu haben"

At the age of 64, I walked 2,500 kilometers from Burgundy to the Spanish coast without a GPS as a solo Australian traveler. For 100 days, I lived to the rhythm of my steps and carried 14 kg of luggage through France and Spain.

On the Way of St. James, where I was known as “Claude the Australian”, I discovered my true, strong self and learned to appreciate the power of the moment.

Returning to everyday life was difficult, but I plucked up courage and wrote down my experiences – even though English is not my first language.

So entstand „Boots to Bliss“. Mein 2012 veröffentlichtes Buch wurde zum weltweiten Bestseller und gilt heute international als eines der inspirierendsten Werke für Pilger.

Have you also undertaken a particularly long pilgrimage and would like to be included in this list?
