The Breton Ways of St James begin in eight places – the “kilomètres zéro”. Since this week, all of them are in Camino Ninja: with map, stages and their own route page in seven languages.

New are eight routes totalling around 564 kilometres: the Voie des Capitales from Mont-Saint-Michel via Rennes to Blain, the Voie de Morlaix through the Monts d'Arrée, the Voie de Dinan, the starting routes from Locquirec and Moguériec, the variants from Pont-Croix and Lorient, and the variant to Redon. Together with the four existing routes – Voie de la Pointe Saint-Mathieu, Voie de l'Abbaye de Beauport, Voie des Plantagenêts and Chemin vendéen – Camino Ninja now covers the entire Breton network: twelve routes, all eight official starting points.

Each of the eight new routes has its own route page in seven languages – 56 new pages, each linked to the neighbouring routes and their connections.

Our partner on the ground is the Association bretonne des Amis de Saint-Jacques de Compostelle. The route names follow

its official guidebooks; where a variant has no official name, this is noted on the route page.

For pilgrims this means: every starting point is a route of its own, with length, elevation, suggested stages and the onward connections south – via the Chemin vendéen and the Via Turonensis all the way to the Camino Francés.

Brittany is the start of a series: step by step, the route networks of the French St James associations are being added. Already on board are the associations from the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, the Voie de Vézelay, Toulouse/Occitanie and Rhône-Alpes. You can find all our partners in the partner overview.
