Colloquium in Tui: Camino Ninja at the meeting on the Portuguese Way
On 5 and 6 November 2026, Tui discusses the past and future of the Portuguese Way. Camino Ninja is there from 4 to 7 November.

On Thursday 5 and Friday 6 November 2026, experts from Galicia and Portugal meet in Tui for the international colloquium “O Camiño Portugués. Pasado, presente e futuro dunha singular ruta xacobea” – the past, present and future of the Portuguese Way to Santiago. Camino Ninja is in Tui from 4 to 7 November.
The colloquium is promoted by the Xunta de Galicia and coordinated by the International Committee of Experts on the Camino de Santiago (Comité Internacional de Expertos do Camiño de Santiago), with the Concello de Tui and the Diocese of Tui-Vigo. The programme covers the management and certification of the Portuguese routes, 800 years of Tui Cathedral, the Camino as a driver for the Tui–Valença Eurocity, welcoming pilgrims in the albergues, and the question of how much promotion the Camino can take.
The location is no coincidence: in Tui, the Central Portuguese Way and the Portuguese Coastal Way cross the Minho together and enter Spain. From here it is still around 118 km to Santiago – enough for the Compostela, which is why many pilgrims start their walk right here.
Hospitaleros, universities and Camino associations from both countries take part, among them the Federação Portuguesa do Caminho de Santiago, a Camino Partner in Camino Ninja. If you are in Tui for an association, a municipality or a tourism organisation and would like to see how your routes, albergues and news appear in Camino Ninja, you can meet the team on all four days. All Camino Partners are listed in the overview of Camino Partners.
