Congress in Mérida: Camino Ninja at the meeting of the Camino associations
From 22 to 25 October 2026 the Camino associations meet in Mérida for the XIV International Congress – Camino Ninja is on site on all four days.
From Thursday 22 to Sunday 25 October 2026, Mérida is the meeting place of the Camino associations: the Spanish Federation of Associations of Friends of the Camino de Santiago hosts the XIV International Congress of Camino Associations (XIV Congreso Internacional de Asociaciones Jacobeas). Camino Ninja will be present on all four days.
The motto is “Homo Viator – Santiago y el origen de las peregrinaciones en Hispania”: man as a wayfarer, the Apostle James and the beginnings of pilgrimage on the Iberian Peninsula. The organiser is the Camino association Vía de la Plata – Camino Mozárabe of Mérida; King Felipe VI has assumed the honorary presidency.
The venue fits: ancient Augusta Emerita lies on the Vía de la Plata, and the Camino Mozárabe from Almería, Granada and Córdoba ends here. On both routes the local associations are Camino Partners, including the Asociación de Amigos del Camino de Santiago de Sevilla – Vía de la Plata and the Asociación de Amigos del Camino Mozárabe de Santiago de Badajoz.
Associations, municipalities and tourism organisations attending in Mérida who want to know how their own routes, hostels and news appear in Camino Ninja can find the team on every day of the congress. All Camino Partners are listed in the overview of Camino Partners.
