  • Vilanova de Arousa

Vilanova de Arousa is the harbour of the Variante Espiritual: here you board a boat and, like the dead apostle in the legend, sail across the Ría de Arousa and up the Ulla, past 17 stone crosses. Valle-Inclán was born here in 1866, and his birthplace is now a museum. An afternoon is enough.

  • Vila Nova de Cerveira

Vila Nova de Cerveira is the art town on the Minho: since 1978 the oldest art biennial still running on the Iberian Peninsula has been bringing sculptures into its streets, and an iron stag keeps watch over the town. The 24th Biennial runs until 30 December 2026. According to Camino Ninja, Santiago is just under 136 kilometres away.

  • Vila Praia de Âncora

Vila Praia de Âncora is a fishing and beach town at the mouth of the Âncora, and legend says the river takes its name from an anchor with which a king drowned his queen. A hundred metres off the trail lies a Neolithic dolmen, and by the harbour stands a fort. Caminha is only about nine kilometres away.

  • Zell (Mosel)

Zell sits in the middle of the Zeller Hamm, a Moselle loop almost 14 kilometres long that the Mosel-Camino cuts short over the Marienburg. On this stretch the parish walked ahead of you: from the Petersberg to Kaimt, where a chapel of St James is recorded in 1143, and around 1200 to Zell. Trier is still 89.3 kilometres away.
